Mangalore Prawn Curry Ingredients: 500 gms prawns frozen or fresh (shelled / deveined) 2 large onions chopped 2 large tomatoes chopped 1 tsp gng paste 5-6 curry leaves 1/2 tsp each of jeera n rai 1 tbsp Siddhapur Masala 1/2 tsp black pepper 1 tbsp ghee 1/2 cup grated coconut Chopped coriander for garnish Method : Fry jeera n rai with curry leaves in ghee, splutter splutter :) add onions 5 mins, add gng paste, then tomatoes n black pepper, fry 10 mins, add grated coconut n siddhapur masala, fry till ghee separates. Done. Blend everything in a mixer, into a thick gravy. Back in the pan on the stove, add the prawns mix well. Now here if you need more gravy add 1/2 cup water and/or simmer for 7-8 mins. Done. Do not over cook the prawns lest they turn into rubber :D Garnish with fresh coriander, serve with ghee rice. If you dont add the water you can eat it with naan, paranthas chappatis or rotis. Enjoy !
